Caves:
Ellora Caves are situated in Aurangabad district.Ellora caves
have gained worldwide reputation for their beauty & majesty.
Here, Indian art & architecture have attained their culmination,
the legends from Buddha, Hindu & Jain mythologies have
been immortalised here through sculptures & frescoes.
Total thirtyfour caves having three groups caves. Buddhist
13, Hindu 16, Jain 5 caves. The cave number 16 called Kailas
is supposed to be one of the wonders of the world carved in
a single rock.
The caves are declared 'World Heritage' by
UNESCO. Also a holy place, as it has a temple of Sri Grhishneshwar,
one of the twelve 'Jyotirlings' in India. Sri Laksha Vinayak
Ganesh temple is one of the 21 'Adya Peeths' of Sri Ganesh.
